Founded in 2003, St. Mark was formed from the merger of St. Timothy, Mary Queen of the Universe, and Most Previous Blood parishes which were all originally located at sites along Union Road. Msgr. Patrick Hambrough was installed as its first pastor with Msgr. Charles Forst as senior associate pastor. Fr. Ted Vitali, CP served the parish as a part-time associate pastor.
The new church was originally located at the former site of the Blessed John XXIII Center on Morgan Ford Road with the school using the site of Mary Queen of the Universe as it's campus.
Original Church InteriorThe school campus expanded over the years, with increasing enrollment in the mid-2000's requiring the installation of portable buildings to serve as additional classrooms. Later, construction of a new gymnasium and parish center was completed in 2011, supporting both religious education as well as sports and community activities.
Current Church InteriorLate in 2019 Fr. Brian Hektor took over as parochial administrator of St. Mark until his installation as pastor in 2021.
In 2023, as part of the Archdiocese of St. Louis’s “All Things New” initiative, St. Mark became the central parish for a newly unified community. It welcomed parishioners from St. Andrew, St. Bernadette, and St. Matthias. Fr. Robert Burkemper was installed as the pastor with Fr. C. Allen Boedeker as associate pastor, and Fr. Richard Schilli as senior associate pastor. Fr. Ted Vitali, CP continued to serve the parish as a part-time associate.
Today, under the leadership of Fr. Robert Burkemper and a dedicated pastoral team, St. Mark continues its mission of proclaiming the Gospel, celebrating the sacraments, and fostering fellowship among all generations.
